Ok I played it for a while and this is brilliant! I love the concept! did not find a spot to save yet - maybe you cant? But i love everything i have seen so far!

Thank you! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it. It was fun to make.

Theoretically, the save function is only available when you're inside the submarine (the top-down section) and press the start-button or "enter." It was a weird function to try and make work. Though, if you're playing the ROM version with an emulator, those frequently have a "save state" option that should do the trick.

That said, you can get through the game within about 10 to 15 minutes.

Thanks again for checking it out!

Ok wow that looks really cool. I love the idea! Will download your game this evening!

very very nice thank you, can we please have more? Hope you are well!

Aw! Thank you!

I am well. I hope you are, too.

I don't know if I'll work on High Tide much more, but I am definitely puttering around on other projects.

very inspiring, usually not crazy about shoot em ups but this one was dripping with style and fun level design. keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for playing!

I'm very glad you got some enjoyment out of it.

¿Final versión?

Currently working to have another update by the end of the year!

Fun game, well done! I'm working on my fist game in gb studio and it is a shoot em up. Its hard to find any resources on how to make one. Your dev log was helpful though, thanks.

I'm so happy it helped! A fair bit of trial and error was necessary for me. Can't wait to see your game!

So good !!

Thank you so much for playing through and recording it! I'm so touched.

I've made some small updates since this play-through, it looks like, but still so pleased to see it!

I love the aesthetics, everything feels genuine.
I also appreciate the little references like 'A winner is you' :)

Yeeeahhh! I couldn't help myself. :>

I'm so glad you liked it!

Huh, the enter button doesn't seem to work for me. I played around on the menu/title screen and the controls work, but enter doesn't. I'm on Chromebook, any ideas why it's not working?

Enter doesn't do anything until a couple levels later. Use the "A" and "B" buttons! They are mapped to z and x, or j and k... also ctrl and alt, I think. Then interact with the hatch on the sub!

Thanks! I played the game and enjoyed it, my only complaint is that the levels are a little generic and easy. Maybe if you make a non-jam version of this you could make it bigger and more challenging?

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

And yes, maybe.

I loved this so much! The aesthetic, the humor, the different gameplay elements. It was incredible! Well done!

Thanks! :>

It was hard work!

The main menu looks good and the music is great, but I can't get past the menu.

Thank you! I had fun making it.

Interact with the sub hatch and it should bring up the option to start.

I love the art! You’re really good at the gameboy aesthetic. The shooting part reminds me of space impact. It’s a bit hard though.

Thank you! I was inspired a lot by those older shoot-em-ups, for sure. You aren't the first one to let me know about the difficulty level. I will be changing some settings soon. Should help!

You nailed the gameboy aesthetic!

Thank you! I spent a lot of time pooling over the classics to figure out the design rules.

ey this is real cute and fun, but am i supposed to get stuck at the sub eater? the level doesn't end and i haven't got a visible health bar anymore!

Shoot the eyes and mouth! Had to hide the sprite for the health bar because of frame limitations of game boy hardware. I'll figure out a fix soon.

Nice

Noice aesthetic.  Reminds me of the good ole days.

Yay! I'm glad you like it! This was my first serious foray into pixel art and I was really enjoying myself after the first couple days.

Cool music, good picture, and it reminds me of something.

What does it remind you of? I definitely pooled over a lot of my old favorites for inspiration. And I'm glad you like the music! Learning how to make it and then making it took probably 50% of my time on this project.

Loved it! The pixel art is fantastic, and tons of fun humor throughout!

You're fantastic!
